Edwards Releases Statement on NH National Guard Unit

Thank goodness for Saturdays because they allow me to catch-up on reading. This statement was from June 21st, but better late then never.

Here is a statement from John Edwards on the deployment of New Hampshire National Guard troops to Iraq:

"As these brave National Guard troops from New Hampshire depart for Iraq, Elizabeth and I keep them, their families and their loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.

"We all join together as Americans to honor and thank the brave men and women who selflessly volunteer to serve and protect our nation. We pray for their safety and look forward to them returning home to the hero's welcome they deserve."

Richardson To Appear on The Exchange

Nex Mexico Governor Bill Richardson is scheduled to be on NHPR’s The Exchange on Monday, July 16th. Further details will be released.

Sangenario With Romney, Not McCain

Today, we received a statement from John Sangenario announcing that he is a Romney supporter. Apparently, John McCain's campaign thought he was a supporter of theirs and listed him as a member of McCain's New Hampshire Veterans Advisory Coalition. Here is the statement:

“I was surprised to learn today that somehow my name was mistakenly put on a list of veterans supporting Senator McCain for president. I never agreed to serve on his New Hampshire Veterans Advisory Coalition. To be clear, I am not supporting the Senator. I have long believed that Mitt Romney is the best person to be our next president. Last year I served as a member of the Governor’s Commonwealth PAC Steering Committee and today I am proud to serve as Mitt Romney’s Hampton Town Chairman. This weekend I’ll be putting a Mitt Romney for President sign in my front yard so that the whole world knows who I support.”

Obama To Pledge Sweeping Ethics Reforms; Connect To 'New Politics' Theme

Photo is: ©Chris Fitzgerald/CandidatePhotos.com

According to a campaign press release, today Senator Obama will propose, "pledge to enact the most sweeping ethics reform package in history on his first day as President." Obama's plan includes closing the revolving door between the government and the private sector; ending no-bid contracts; increasing access to information and restoring objectivity to the presidency. In the speech, Obama will connect his 'new kind of politics campaign' with government reform. He will say,

"The people I’ve met across this country don’t just want reform for reform’s sake, they want reform that will help pay their doctor’s bills, or ensure that their tax dollars are spent wisely, or put us on the path to energy independence. They want real reform and they’re tired of the lobbyists standing in the way.”

The 411 on the 603

The 411 on the 603

John Edwards and New Hampshire: Is it a "love-hate relationship" or more of a "you better not call me again" relationship? That's what James Pindell and Ben Smith attempt to figure out.

It's that time of the cycle, when campaigns begin to hire college interns and place them in field offices.

And the Romney campaign answer calls about his security detail. Elliott and the Clacker cover the story.

Finally, how many headaches do you think Reid Cherlin had today, after he read that his team told a blogger to go home and the story found its way onto Blue Hampshire.

I've Got A Crush...On Obama

But, Mike Gravel Steals My Heart

The 411 on the 603

The 411 on the 603

Winning the New Hampshire primary requires grassroots activism, offices and lots of staffers. Apparently, the top Dems are taking this advice to heart. Throughout the state they are adding new offices and hiring staffers.

The goal of these new staffers is to win over voters. Yet, campaigns are beginning re-evaluate the role of independent voters.

The insightful Michael McCord examines grassroots campaigning in the Granite State.

While, Michael Barone advises New Hampshire politicos to take a look at the Constitution.

However, have no fear citizens because The Nashua Telegraph explains that The Granite State is still a "prime stop."

Whosyourcandidate.com

Tonight, we added a new link to our "Politicos" section. We've added the New Hampshire based website, "whosyourcandidate.com." The site is useful for links to national stories, interviews and videos. Hope you enjoy it. Here's a copy of their mission and a link to the site:

"Whosyourcandidate.com's mission is to inform and interest those who have otherwise been uninterested in our nation's presidential race. The site's purpose is to provide the average individual with information that is unbiased and fair on each presidential candidate while staying focused on the facts, leaving behind the negative side of politics."
